Fall Elopement in Lake Tahoe // Lake Tahoe Elopement Photographer

What my bride had to say about booking me as her photographer:

“It is so crazy to think of where we are currently in planning our wedding compared to the start of 2020 (LOL) Although COVID has made for many unexpected twists and turns, we could not be any happier to be getting married in Lake Tahoe and to have you, Bridgette, as our photographer!! Reaching out to you with a little over a month before our wedding and finding out you were available was THE BEST. I truly believe that set the tone for us replanning our wedding in just about 3 weeks. It has been very stressful but we know the day is going to be amazing and will be captured beautifully thanks to you!!!!”

and her response to seeing her photos:

“I just got home and we are starting to go through them! 😭❤️ Bridge, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for everything. These photos are bringing us to tears.  Beyond beautiful and tells the story of our day so perfectly. Seriously can’t thank you enough! ❤️❤️ We love you!!!”

Sam and Devon’s elopement was such a whirlwind form the very beginning. They emailed me and reached out literally like a month before their elopement, wasn’t 100% on a location yet, but knew they wanted to hire me 1000% regardless of the location. I cried a little bit. It’s always such an honor to capture any elopement, but this one really tugged on my heart strings.

Literally two weeks before their elopement, we went up to Tahoe to photograph their engagement session and explore Lake Tahoe together! You can check out that day here.

Sam and Devon rented out the most beautiful, three story airbnb in South Lake Tahoe, overlooking a meadow and the lake in the distance, and the mountains even farther away. It was so incredibly stunning and the weather that day was perfect. Sunny skies, slight breeze, gorgeous.

When I arrived, Sam was getting her makeup done, Devon was hiding away in the bedroom getting ready, and their closest friends and family were hanging out, having snacks and coffee, and enjoying each others company. At one point, Devon had to come into the kitchen to go downstairs to finish getting ready (which meant he would see Sam if they didn’t hide her away), so some girls put jackets up to cover Sam and her hair and makeup so Devon wouldn’t see her– and we were all dying laughing hahaha. Funniest moment ever– thankfully Sam didn’t laugh so hard she cried since she just got her makeup done lol!

I laid out all of their details, their invites, perfume, shoes, vow books, and they even had custom wooden pens and a wine bottle with their future name on it. So much detail was put into the smallest of details, it gave me chills. Such gorgeous details for their intimate elopement.

Sam and Devon finished getting ready, and we headed out to their first look location. Sam hopped in my car and Devon went ahead of us in his Tesla. We left a good 5 minutes after him, and funniest thing was we saw a white tesla on the road in front of us, so we kept changing lanes and getting behind other cars so Devon wouldn’t see her! Sam and I was laughing so hard hahah like what are the odds. Come to find out it was just another white Tesla and not him– so people probably thought we were crazy changing lanes so much hahah.

They shared their first look in a meadow filled with dried, golden grass that they had all to themselves. They saw each other for the first time, exchanged their vows together, and cried. This was their day, and they were doing it exactly how they wanted to– intimate, meaningful, and in a place that was so special to them.

We headed to the lake where everyone was waiting for them to have their ceremony. Devon went ahead, and waiting by the arch for her. They expressed their love to each other surrounded by a small group of about 20 of their favorite people, and bright blue water and mountains in the background. They also had The Hytch plan and style their elopement for them, and their arch was so simple and gorgeous.

They popped some champagne, ate some doughnuts, danced with their loved ones as the sun started to go down, took some family portraits, and then headed to the water to take some couples photos before the sun tucked behind the mountains.

We danced to music, explored lake side, they took their shoes off and got their feet a little wet and dirty as they navigated over the rocks, and celebrated the fact that they’re now married!!! Getting the chance to become such close friends with these two, and then getting to capture their adventure elopement yet was the biggest honor. So beyond happy for you guys and can’t wait to see you again!
