Summer Donner Lake Anniversary || Taryn & Garrett

Taryn and Garrett got married just a few weeks ago at this point, and wanted to have a summer Donner Lake anniversary session! They wanted to celebrate this time in their lives in normal attire, outside of their wedding photos. Checkout their wedding blog here!

At first, we were considering doing an in-home session in their home in Reno, and then last minute decided to go explore in the mountains! I took them to one of my favorite local spots and Donner Lake and it was a perfect summer evening. We explored in the forest as we listened to music, Garrett looked for deer on the horizon (they hunt a lot so this was such a Garrett thing to do haha), and they took cute filmy photos of each other.

We chased the sunset, and they climbed on this rock overlooking the lake! It’s seriously one of the most epic views of Donner lake, and one of my favorite local spots. One of the perks of hiring me as your photographer is getting access to all these incredible, local gem locations that I’ve scouted, where you can share your vows, or simply capture this time in your lives– in private, where all the tourists won’t know about. What’s better than that?

Getting a capture Taryn and Garrett in their natural element– laughing, and just enjoying each other‘s company until the sky turned pink and blue was such a joy. I love you guys and can’t wait to keep capturing more moments in your lives!
