Maivi and Neil’s elopement day was so beautiful and intentional in every way. They live in Truckee, CA and wanted to have their ceremony in their backyard with their immediate family, and then explore in Tahoe to capture it’s beauty to celebrate!
We woke up super early and decided to have their first look at Emerald Bay just as the sun started to come over the mountains. It was beyond gorgeous. Maivi and Neil drove from their house together to Emerald Bay and used a sheet to cover the front seat to the back seat lol! They wanted to have their first look overlooking the water, so this way they could drive together without seeing each other– genius!
Neil hopped out and I led him through the snow to the spot where they would have their first look. Maivi hopped out in the most beautiful gown and her coat and hand warmers. I led her through the snow to see her man for the first time! They had their first look and they were so excited and happy to see each other!! Smiles ear to ear and Neil started to tear up. It was so precious.
We explored around Emerald Bay a bit, and took photos of them overlooking the most gorgeous snow covered lake. The sun fully came out and it was a dream!!
We hopped in the car and drove 15 minutes up the road to a meadow and took some more portraits of the two of them. Maivi whipped out her hand warmers from inside her dress and I started laughing so hard!!! Hahah I knew she was holding them that morning but didn’t realize she put them in her dress! So hilarious but genius to her her sisters warm lol!
We ran back to the car since our toes were freezing, warmed em up and thawed them under the car heater, and headed back towards their house for their ceremony.
Maivi’s dad hand-made the arch for their ceremony, and they spent hours the day before setting up lights, lanterns, and setting up their ceremony site in their backyard. It was so beautiful! They exchanged their vows as her sister officiated, and they said I do!!!
One of my favorite parts was when they brought out all of their dogs from the house (they have 7 lol) and took portraits with all of them!! 🙂 it was so cute and perfect.
Congrats you two!!! Thank you so much for wanting me to be apart of your gorgeous elopement day!
