Sydney and Felix love the snow, so it was fitting that they wanted to have a winter hiking lake tahoe elopement to tie the knot!
Sydney and Felix rented out the cutest place to stay in, Black Bear Lodge in South Lake Tahoe. It’s the coziest little place filled with A-frame cabins! I totally fell in love when I drove up at like 4am to take photos haha.
The entire lodge was covered in snow and icicles, and was a total winder wonderland. I showed up to Sydney’s cabin and her friend was doing her hair for her elopement day. The fire was on in the fireplace and it was still dark outside. Sydney and Felix decided to do a sunrise elopement, so she was getting ready before the sun came up. We enjoyed the cozy cabin as she got ready, and then took some portraits outside in the snow!
Felix was getting ready in a cabin nearby, and his dad helped him! After they were both ready, they shared a first look between their cabins in the snow! Felix was so excited to see Sydney that I swear he shed a tear haha. And of course we took advantage and took a few photos by the cabins because how could you not!? They’re so perfect! They totally scream winter lake tahoe elopement if you ask me haha.

After their first look, we all headed out to Emerald Bay for their elopement ceremony with their loved ones! Sydney’s best friend was their officiant which was so special and meaningful. Their ceremony was short and sweet, and then we explored the area a bit more! South Lake Tahoe is seriously one of my favorite places to take photos on the lake, it’s so vast with it’s options and always stunning!

After their ceremony, the couple and I hiked up to an alpine lake. They really wanted an adventure on their elopement day so that’s what we did! And mannnn, it was a freaking hike haha. We put snowshoes on and hiked up a few miles, which took a few hours uphill in the snow. But wow was it worth it!! We got to the lake, and they shared their personal vows together on top of the mountain, just the two of them (and myself nearby).

After we hiked back to the cars, we went back to the cabins and ended their elopement day in sweats & eating pizza. Seriously the freaking PERFECT end to the best day, especially after a hike!!
