Modern Carmel Highlands Wedding

Anh-Thu and John had the most beautiful Carmel Highlands wedding day this past fall. They celebrated with their favorite people, went to the coast, and even had lunch at In-n-Out — it was the best day! Come check it out!

Anh-Thu and John got ready at the gorgeous Carmel Highlands Resort and Wedding venue in Carmel. You can click here to learn more about their event space. Their wedding day was overcast with a cool breeze, it was perfect!!

The girls got ready upstairs overlooking the ocean, and John and the boys got ready in their hotel room close by. Once they were ready, they shared a first look amongst the greenery overlooking the ocean, it was such a special moment! Getting to see John so emotional and SO EXCITED– he literally threw his first in the air and Anh-Thu was crying as were all of us. They soaked in the moment together, and then we all headed to Big Sur to take photos cliff-side!!

The couple, wedding party and photo/video team headed to the coast and the portraits taken there were an absolute dream. There was a slight breeze still, truly not too much wind at all (which is truly so rare on the coast, it’s normally SOOO windy), and we made magic!! These photos are still some of my favorites to date.

After the coast, we went to freaking In-n-Out babyyy. We drove back into Carmel and it was great. Anh-Thu and John LOVE In-n-Out. He introduced it to her and ever since, they go all the time and kinda made it a big part of their relationship! So we literally went to In-n-Out for lunch and it was the best!! I’m obsessed with them haha.

We headed back to the Carmel Highlands and had their wedding ceremony overlooking the coast! They had violinists and a more intimate group of their favorite people attending. Even though John already saw Anh-Thu, he still teared up seeing her walk down the aisle, it was so sweet!

Anh-Thu takes the cake for the best prank of all time during the ceremony. She goes to share her vows, and instead ices John right before. Their officiant had a drink holster in his freaking suit pants, turned around and EVERYONE was dying laughing! Hahaha it was hilarious!

They shared their personal vows, and did the damn thing!!! After their ceremony, we took photos with friends and family, they choreographed a dance together (Anh-Thu switched outfits and everything) and it was epic, shared speeches, ate delicious food, and danced the night away!

It truly was such a perfect day. Anh-Thu and John, thank you SO much for trusting me with your wedding photos and memories, getting to know you guys and become friends and being apart of it all has been a dream. Love y’all so much!!! Congrats again!
