Summer Wedding at Valhalla Tahoe || Lauren & Nick

There’s something so magical about a summer wedding at Valhalla Tahoe. With towering pine trees, beautiful views of Lake Tahoe, and the historic charm of the estate, it’s the kind of place that feels effortlessly romantic.

Lauren and Nick’s summer wedding was exactly that—beautiful, emotional, and filled with so many thoughtful details that made the entire day feel completely theirs. From quiet getting-ready moments to an emotional first look and a gorgeous forest-facing ceremony, every part of their Lake Tahoe wedding felt timeless.

Getting Ready Moments at a Lake Tahoe Wedding

The morning of Lauren and Nick’s wedding was filled with all of those little moments that make a wedding day feel real. Getting ready with your closest people is about so much more than hair, makeup, and putting on a dress. It’s the anticipation, the champagne, the happy tears, and the excitement that something you’ve been planning for months is finally here.

At Valhalla, the historic property provides such a beautiful backdrop for these early moments of the day. Lauren and her loved ones spent the morning getting ready together at a hotel nearby, and then headed out to put on her dress at Valhalla.

Meanwhile, Nick got ready with his closest friends and family before seeing Lauren for the first time on their wedding day!

Emotional First Look at Valhalla

One of my favorite parts of Lauren and Nick’s day was their first look! They were so excited to see each other and got so emotional– it was absolutely stunning. They loved sharing a first look together & taking a few minutes, before the rest of the day unfolded. It also gave us the opportunity to capture some beautiful portraits around the property before their ceremony began!

Valhalla Tahoe has so many gorgeous pockets for portraits, from the historic architecture to the surrounding forest, making it easy to create a gallery that has a lot of variety.

Timeless Wedding Decor for Summer Valhalla Tahoe Wedding

Lauren and Nick chose wedding details that complemented the natural beauty of Valhalla rather than competing with it. Warm yellows and greens, dainty daisies and the most stunning florals and linens.

That balance is one of the things I love most about weddings in Lake Tahoe. You really don’t need to overdo the decor when you’re surrounded by towering trees, mountain scenery, and one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. The landscape naturally becomes part of the design.

Forest facing Wedding Ceremony at Valhalla

Lauren and Nick exchanged vows during a beautiful forest-facing ceremony at Valhalla.

Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they officially became husband and wife beneath the towering Tahoe trees. There was something so peaceful about the setting—the greenery, the summer light, and the feeling of being completely surrounded by nature.

Their ceremony was heartfelt and personal, with so many emotional moments shared between the two of them and the people they love most!

Afterward, we took time for family portraits, wedding party photos, and plenty of newlywed portraits on the dock, and inside of the boathouse. Their wedding was truly the perfect blend of documentary and editorial wedding photography.

Stunning Wedding Reception in Lake Tahoe

Once the ceremony was over, everyone gathered to celebrate Lauren and Nick at their beautiful Lake Tahoe reception!!

The atmosphere shifted from the emotion of the ceremony into a night full of dinner, laughter, happy tears, and plenty of dancing. These are some of my favorite reception moments to photograph because they’re often when everyone finally lets loose and simply enjoys being together.

Lauren and Nick’s entire wedding day felt like a reflection of what makes a summer wedding at Valhalla so special: timeless surroundings, meaningful moments, and the people who matter most.
